We have three new hotels in addition to the Embassy Suites in Hunt Valley. The first new one is the Holiday Inn Express on York Road for $84 per night. Again, call in and ask for the Timonium Train Show rate, or wait until they send us a link to our web. They have a breakfast buffet and will probably give us a room for "drag and brag". Embassy Suites is still your best deal with a full breakfast buffet AND happy hour each night. If you don't drink (Is there really anybody like that!) the Holiday is a good deal and good price.
Next is the Residence Inn in Hunt Valley with a full breakfast buffet, but the same price as the Embassy--$119 per night plus tax. Again, call and ask for the Train Show rate.
Last, we contacted the Hampton Inn, and were told it would be 12% off the rack rate. When I inquired about it, they said it depended on the price at that time. For an example, the rate of the day was $131 plus tax less the 12%. Not exactly a great deal, unless you REALLY like the Hampton. They have a continental breakfast.
Restaurants abound in the area--Outback, Corner Stable (Ribs!), Carrabas, Chilis, Texas Roadhouse, Basta Pasta, an Irish Pub, Olive Garden, Macaroni Grill-- to name just a few.
Area attractions include the Baltimore Inner Harbor, the B & O railroad museum, the Baltimore Trolley Museum, Ravens Stadium, Edgar Allan Poe home, and many others. Washington D.C. has many attractions, as well as the new Air and Space Museum, Wheaton, Maryland Trolley Museum, the Annapolis Naval Academy, and many more too numerous to mention.
